Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Bars

Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Bars
Georgie Fear

Why waste money on commercial protein bars when you can make your own? These pack plenty of whole grains, protein, and the home-run combo of chocolate and peanut butter. Perfect for a pre- or post-workout boost or mid-night snack. Just bake, wrap, refrigerate, and feel good about yourself all week. Tips: For variety, stir the peanut butter into the oatmeal mixture along with the egg whites and vanilla in Step #2. Then proceed with the recipe, omitting the swirl at the end. For an even bigger change, substitute almond butter for the peanut butter and almond extract for some or all of the vanilla.
